Calmness

I have a daily devotional book called “My Utmost for His Highest“.  For April 9th, it starts off with a very interesting thought:  “Say nothing until the Son of Man is risen in you – until the life of the risen Christ so dominates you that you understand what Christ taught.  When you get to the right state on the inside…”

Is the spiritual man or woman inside of us ready to match our outside circumstances?  If not, be still… be quiet before the Lord and before others. We don’t respond to or address a situation based upon what we think or feel…

It all must be filtered through the Lord and His Word.  No sudden moves or worrisome fretting!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”  (Proverbs 3:5)

To me, trust is relaxing, not tenseness.  It leads to calmness.

“My son, let them not depart from your eyes – keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck.  Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble.” (Proverbs 3: 21-23)

Peace…rest…assurance.  That is what I seek for myself.  I also seek that for you!

“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:8)

These are my thoughts for you today!
