“Britney and Bobby Hibbs”
El Salvador

Our Scripture text for memorization today is:
“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.'”
Romans 8:15 NKJV
“For there is no partiality with God. For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law.”
Romans 2:11-12 NKJV
Recently, I received an update from Britney and Bobby Hibbs. COVID-19 in El Salvador, as you will see from reading their update, has been a real struggle for them.
Dear Pastor McCullough,
We hope that this message finds you well! We think of you all often and pray you are well.
We are doing well. We are no longer in martial law quarantine, but our hospitals have now collapsed and COVID-19 seems to be spreading like wildfire. They are doing very little testing so the reported numbers aren’t a good reflection of reality. The minister of health said that the numbers are probably 10x what is being reported just because they don’t have the available testing here. Many of our youth and their families are ill but there is not much that can be done. One of our young men, Pablo, is quite ill right now and has been having breathing difficulties. He went to the local health clinic but they sent him home and there is a several- day wait for a bed in the local hospitals. We are praying for him and calling/checking up on him regularly. When he first became ill he wrote to us and said he was at the clinic but they weren’t going to be able to do anything and it was so frustrating to feel so incredibly helpless. We have talked to the local ambulance service, local private doctors – everything – and no one can help. The system is just overwhelmed. We keep praying for an end to the pandemic and for God’s protection over us and the rest of our youth.
We are also still doing food distribution and just gave out several hundred pounds of food a couple of weeks ago. Many lost their jobs during the quarantine so the need is still great.
Bobby and I are doing well personally but would appreciate your prayers for safety and health. We take all the necessary precautions but the nature of ministry has us out a lot around others. We are trying to walk in wisdom but also not live in fear. It’s a hard balance sometimes.
Thank you, Pastor, for all you do! We are truly grateful to have you journeying with us as we serve the youth here in El Salvador!
Please continue to pray for the Hibbs and their ministry in El Salvador. Please pray for missions everywhere around the world, as well as right here at home. They all need our prayers and our financial support!
