Memorizing God’s Word

“Our Offering”

Our first task today is our Scripture texts for memorization this week. Remember, you can memorize the Scriptures in any translation you would like.

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”

Matthew 5:17

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

John 15:16

Once again, it is time for our very Special Missions Offering.  Our focus of prayer and our financial gifts will be for our five churches in the Philippines, overseen by Wilson Relova and for Bobby and Britney Hibbs in El Salvador.

We stay in contact with both ministries and we try to keep their needs before you as often as we can.  We are faithful to pray for them and help provide or be the answer to some of their prayers.

Both missionaries have spiritual needs.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 6:12

And both missionaries have physical needs.  God has called us to do our best to help them as they do the Lord’s work in their respective places of ministry.

The Apostle Paul was very aware of the needs his fellow Christian brothers and sisters.  Maybe you have heard of the “Macedonian Call”.  It was a God-given vision directed to route Paul to a specific place, to supply prayer and resources in the Asian province of Galatia (Acts 15:39-Acts 18:22)

What we want to accomplish is not only to stir you to pray for them, but to also set aside money for our Special Missions offering to be received on Sunday, September 27thThis special offering would be above what you would regularly give in your tithes and offerings.

Please pray that the Lord would lead you in your giving.  Our totals usually are around twenty-thousand dollars.  But, this year it could be different.  Let me remind you:  God is not different in what He will provide and both missionaries’ needs are greater than any other year.  I believe we can allow the Lord to lift us to the occasion, to provide and surpass what we would think possible.

I BELIEVE IT!   DO YOU?
