Memorizing God’s Word

“Wisdom – a Gift from God”

Our memory verses for this week are:

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John 14:15

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

Romans 11:29

I encourage you to read the verses before and after the memory verse so you will have a knowledge of the reason and workings of the verses you are memorizing.

Knowing when and how to apply God’s Word, I believe, is wisdom.

Wisdom is a gift from God.  I believe wisdom needs to be cared for and groomed by the reading of God’s Word.

Try connecting a situation or circumstance to portions of Scripture.  God reveals Himself through His Word and in the midst of our situations or circumstances.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

James 1:5

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Proverbs 2:6

If we do a little study on the subject of “wisdom” you will see that it is not just a single thing to be sought.  But, it includes insight and understanding:  proper and practical understanding.

Wisdom in Proverbs 3:14-16 is compared to silver and gold.  God says wisdom is better because “wisdom” helps us to know what to do with what God gives us.  You may think you need more money, but what you really need to know is what to do with the money you have.

The Bible is the book that has all the answers and directions we could ever need or want.

Concerning the upcoming missions offering on September 27th .  Give what the Lord directs.  He will make it possible.  Through prayer and wise use of what God has provided, our missionaries’ needs can be met.

Hopefully you have asked God to what degree He wants you to participate.

Both the Hibbs’ in El Salvador and Brother Relova in the Philippines have had devastation to deal with because of COVID 19.

At the center of both missionaries is a heart that beats to save souls.

We have chosen to partner with Bobby and Britney Hibbs and Wilson Relova in their ministries. SO…let’s be faithful to the Lord in our giving and may our giving be the answer to their prayers!
