“Memorizing God’s Word”

“Be Thankful”

Our memory verses for this week are:

10 Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10

14 If you are [a]reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. [b]On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

1 Peter 4:14

A lot of things are happening right now and our planning for Holidays has officially begun.

2020 came in like a Lion, hopefully it will go out like a Lamb!

Hopefully the many distractions will take a back seat to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  It certainly will be different for a lot of us this year.

COVID…jobs…transitions…or losses…have touched most of us this year.

We are hoping and praying for a 2021 that will be filled with the Lord’s guidance and blessings!

A lot of our friends and family have gone through trying times in 2020.

Before we get to 2021, let’s pause and give thanks!

God, who never sleeps or takes a break, has been with each of us this year and has been with us our whole life.

I hope we will reflect on the Lord.

His Word and His Spirit are refreshing!

Being thankful is not something that just happens…it is a result!

I became thankful when I chose to look upon God and allow myself to imagine His completeness, and His ability to create completeness in my life.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) is just a wonderful verse surrounded by wonderful verses.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

As we read the Bible and the Holy Spirit engulfs us, He explains what we’ve just read.

He then continues to help us understand how, what we have read can be implemented into our lives.

I want my thankfulness to be the results, not on how I see things, but as the result of His Word, and His Presence.

He will show us the things He really has accomplished for us.

Nothing can take those things away ever!

No more being a Christian and living in the dark, resulting in not being thankful!

People think of “feeling good” and “being content” and “thankfulness” as a measure between good and bad!  You know…bad things vs. good things…sick vs. healthy…rich vs. poor, and so on and so on.

But…that is not it at all!

With God…he never changes and anything we might put in the bad list is only temporary, if that!

Some things we don’t understand will work good for someone else and even for us.

Don’t be in a hurry…Label your growing pains as bad!

I want to live in a state of Romans 8 and that is a choice.

With the Lord as my Shepherd and Creator, most of my present, past and future, I can only trust in Him.

None other has the means to provide all I need to be thankful.

I am not sure who read this, but my prayer for you is that we choose thankfulness for the rest of the year!

May the Lord continue to Bless You and Keep you.  Amen.
