I was reading one of Mike Wingfield’s newsletters and the main article was entitled, “Jesus is Coming Soon”.
He always does a very good job in his writings.
As I read Mike’s writings and others concerning the return of the Lord, I noticed something. The return of Christ is a fact!
We are to be watching, praying, making ready for His return.
The attention is not so much on the world, but upon us being ready.
A lot of us are so far removed from this thought that we don’t see or understand the world we live in.
Others are just too attached to the ‘here and now’.
We like our stuff!
We hope we can keep our lifestyle and our things right up till the trumpet sounds.
I have said this before, but it seems to me that we are reluctant to accept being the last group of Christians on earth just before the Rapture. If we are the last group of Christians, that’s great! If there are more to come, that is great, as well!
The direction the Lord’s leading takes is to prepare us for this very special task.
I believe He expects to find a strong, faithful church in every aspect, doing and being what ever the need demands for us.
He will come again and take those believers home to be with Him…those who are watching and waiting for His return!
Are you waiting for His return OR are your eyes on other things right now?
Remember the parable of the “wise and foolish virgins” in Matthew 25:1-13?
In verse 8 it says, “And the foolish said to the wise…”
The “foolishness” only becomes apparent when the Bridegroom was so close that it was too late for them.
The Bridegroom, Himself, has said He will come to receive us unto Himself. I don’t want to be distracted by the words of the foolish.
Jesus told us the signs to be watching for.
I see the signs of His soon-coming all around me!
Therefore, I keep vigilant watch for His return.
What are you watching for?
If you wait until the foolish realize that His return is real, it will be too late!
28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
