Monday Missionary Spotlight: CRU

We’d like to occasionally highlight some prayer requests and updates from missionaries and other local missions.

Today, we’re highlighting CRU. As a church, we support CRU (formally Campus Crusade for Christ). If you’re unfamiliar with CRU, it is an ecumenical Christian organization. It was founded in 1951 at the University of California, by Bill Bright and Vonette Zachary Bright. Since then, Cru has expanded it’s focus to include adult professionals, athletes, and high school students.

Periodically, we receive updates from Jeff & Nancy Beard who work with CRU and the Jesus Film Project. If you haven’t seen their most recent update letter, we wanted to share it with you:

Dear friends at The Good Shepherd Ministries,

Sometimes I’m amazed at all the many ways God is working to bring people to Himself. Here are a few examples of how he is doing this through Jesus Film Project (JFP).

One of JFP’s goals this year is to create more short videos to answer questions about God and Jesus, Which people in cultures unreceptive to Christianity often have. Our Digital Strategies team has a gifted member living in Central Asia who has been instrumental in creating the “Do You Ever Wonder” video series.

This is a scene from the “Do You Ever Wonder” video series. “Can the Bible Be Trusted?” and “Who is Jesus Really?” are just two of the topics covered in the series.

I once heard a famous Christian say, many people don’t reject Christ, they reject a caricature of who they think Christ is. The “Do You Ever Wonder” video series will help people understand who Jesus really is, enabling them to make an informed decision to accept and follow Him. “A Year of Prayer,” is a JFP 2022 prayer initiative encouraging individuals to pray for the least reached people of the world. Each month we pray for one of the top 12 countries in the world where 75% of unreached people live. JFP is

focusing our resources on these 12 nations. In February we are praying for China. Here’s a link to a great guide about China, With prayer requests and activities for this month: https://tinyurl.com/599fevht

We thank God for you and your faithful prayers and support. May you rejoice in knowing the impact you are having for Christ. We greatly appreciate you!
