Quick Thought Thursday: Willing, Compassionate, & Capable

This is my “quick thought” from today’s reading in Mark 1-2.

“A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. ‘If You are willing, You can heal me and make me clean,’ he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. ‘I am willing,’” ~Mark 1:40-41 NLT

If you are willing you can heal me and make me clean? The man didn’t just want to be healed; he wanted to be clean, ceremonially clean. To be clean meant that he could experience relationship again, and more importantly he could be restored to a right relationship with God.

In the midst of this, Jesus is not only willing, but he is “moved with compassion,” and he is the only one capable of truly restoring any of us in relationship with God.

He is willing, he is compassionate, and he is capable!

This is what I heard in today’s reading, what did you hear?
